Poison of gossip

I was just a kid, back in 1974, when my father married his cousin’s adapted daughter. For the 1st 8 years of the marriage (his 2nd, her 1st) they had a lot of problems. They blamed everything on me when something went wrong with them. According to what they had everyone thinking, I had done such terrible things such as setting a dog on fire, poisoning a child, throwing another dog out a window, pouring a gallon of soap into a coffee machine, covering my father’s face while he was driving, continuously stealing money and jewelry from him and his wife, and other terrible things. Of course, all these were tales of which they told were as to cover up their real incidents. None were ever proven to be true, as they were found not to be. This is the poison of gossip. Then came 1984, when they kicked me out of their house, and… Read More »Poison of gossip

No interest to communicate

An example of corporate campaigning and downside to political parties is NJ governor candidate Jack Ciattarelli. He seems to have little or no interest to communicate with potential voters. I was told he’s a busy man, but found that he’s tied up in campaign efforts and cooperate sponsors. After efforts to reach him, I’m one of several that his staff blocked from his Facebook page and shadow-banned from his official website with notice, claiming me as trying to hack his site, which I’d never do. I was told by others that involvement with Jack Ciattarelli requires being a registered Republican money donation, as if we don’t throw too much money into political campaigns as it is. I’m an independent and don’t register with political parties although I’m happy to speak to them. I like Jack. He has good ideas and plans for New Jersey, but selective of supporters. The only response I got from his… Read More »No interest to communicate

THE ORIGIN OF THE WORD “POLITICAL CORRECTNESS”

WJ CharlieeColumbus, OHwjcharliee@gmail.com The Definition is found in 4 telegrams at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri. The following are copies of four telegrams between President Harry Truman and Gen Douglas MacArthur on the day before the actual signing of the WWII Surrender Agreement in September 1945…The contents of those four telegrams below are exactly as received at the end of the war – not a word has been added or deleted!(1) Tokyo, Japan0800-September 1,1945To: President Harry S TrumanFrom: General D A MacArthur“Tomorrow, we meet with those yellow-bellied bastards and sign the Surrender Documents, any last-minute instructions?”(2) Washington, D C1300-September 1, 1945To: D A MacArthurFrom: H S Truman“Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press, because some of your remarks are fundamentally not ‘politically correct’! “(3) Tokyo, Japan1630-September 1, 1945To: H S TrumanFrom: D A MacArthur… Read More »THE ORIGIN OF THE WORD “POLITICAL CORRECTNESS”

Time in my life where I got little to eat

Early in my life I got little to eat. Throughout my childhood, I was a very skinny child, or “bony” as some would jokingly call it. My mother and father would both tell others that I was naturally skinny. But the truth was that I wasn’t fed very much as a child up until my teen years. This was because each of my divorced parents always felt it was someone else’s duty to feed me. My maternal grandparents, who raised me also fed me, and pay for food for me when not with them. So, whenever I was with either of my parents, I never got much to eat. My mother and her 2nd husband would only feed me table scraps. My father and his 2nd wife, ) would only feed me leftovers. Rock bottom came when I was put on a diet by a psychiatrist being told by my mother that I was an… Read More »Time in my life where I got little to eat

I’ve finally found my father’s obituary

After several years, I’ve finally found my father’s obituary, death notice and service Info, which was hidden at legacy.com. I took it upon myself to make a concise, prudent and truthful contribution to the guest book. This is what I wrote: “I am Kenneth Kassner, Herbert Kassner’s second son. I’d like to speak my peace, now that I’ve finally found this page. There is no mention of my daughter Kelly, who was 3 years old at the time of Herb Kassner’s passing. He did not like her because she is the first blood relative of his not to have a Jewish mother. This does not surprise me, for I have always know my father to be Anti-Gentile. This obituary has also left out two others of his children, Gerald and Karen, both born out of wedlock. While I respect the dead and have no hatred for my father, I’ll mention that Herb Kassner was not… Read More »I’ve finally found my father’s obituary

Manhattan history being stereotyped and changed

Sadly, Manhattan history stereotyped by changing “facts”. It never looked like the picture with a whole bunch of trees, forest, lakes or swamp. Manhattan is mass of bedrock, later evolved on into an inner city. Manhattan, with mounds of dirt and soil wheeled in on wagons was eventually built into an artificial island. I studied about this in school. Today many concoct a phony history rewrite of Manhattan’s development. Even Manhattan’s name was thought to mean “place to get bows or gather wood to make bows”, but the novel name came from a 14th century Latin term meaning water settlement. This is what happens when people rewrite books, rename places and destroy relics. For what it’s worth, I was born and raised in Manhattan. I bring up the story of Manhattan because it is a prime example of what is happening today with a lot of our history. I was one of many students to study… Read More »Manhattan history being stereotyped and changed

Much as I love trains, Amtrak sucks.

Much as I love trains, Amtrak sucks. I found out that in Europe and Asia, people commonly refer to all Amtrak engines as SLOBS (Slow Locomotive Offshoot Blowouts). You can’t blame it on big oil, climate change or safety for why we don’t invest in rail transport the way we should. But there are over two dozen other countries with electric and diesel service t exceeding 200 mph and altogether over 40 other countries with that same service over 170 mph. Amtrak at best goes 140 mph regardless of what they advertise or claim, yet on average they go much slower and use excuses to announce delays so that people don’t ask for refunds. A bullet train in Japan could go between NYC and Dallas in 5 hours. If you take the US out of all these stupid wars we have no business in, stop wasting money on stupid projects, use eminent domain the way… Read More »Much as I love trains, Amtrak sucks.

The overblown lockdown, aka ‘’COVID-19 Pandemic’’

Educational The overblown “COVID” lockdown (referred to as “the COVID-19 Pandemic”), has me I miss doing many thing, such as playing music in venues and clubs. I miss getting together with friends. I miss shopping in NYC. I miss traveling on the train up and down the Eastern Seaboard to visit friends and relatives. I miss how well I was able to maintain my health. Though I was never really phased by the publicity of the lockdown, I was surrounded by people who were. Throughout 2020, I would see people wearing masks and not understand why, since this was all in observance of an airborne virus that was manufactured in a laboratory on the other side of the world. In 2021, I was under pressure from people around me to take a experimental vaccine without a doctor’s prescription. I, like many was told I would be denied any medical care if I didn’t. After seeking 3… Read More »The overblown lockdown, aka ‘’COVID-19 Pandemic’’
