Leadership in our society

Overall leadership in our society has gone bad. You
can see why when you look at left-wing extremists and
right-wing extremists, and how delusional many of
them are. Independents and moderates like myself are
stereotyped with having no position, (something that
couldn’t be further from the truth) because the standard
is to be one side or the other. “Agree to disagree” is
just another useless cliché in this sense, while your
input is restricted and drowned out in many cases.
This is a reflection of a two-party system where we
would benefit more from a three or four-party system
more suited to support a good checks-and-balances
system. It would also be better to put more emphasis
on the candidates/elected officials rather than the
party, something that would make it easier for good
leaders to hold their convictions and not cave to their
party.
The corporate media (where there is ample
competition) overall supports government corruption. It
doesn’t have to be this way, but it’s a growing culture in
American media. Corporate network news is a big
source for propaganda, with most network reporting on
a drama-based format. Corporate news is designed to
make people think that what is going on globally is all
true and accurate.
This divided country is the result, because many
people are gullible to propaganda and refuse to see it.
Most times people today in our society or so selfcentered and dishonest that there is little trust and
respect in others amongst us. It is safe to say that out
of a population of over 300,000,000 Americans, more
than half are not collectively very bright, no matter the
level of education or income. In many instances, the
ego upstages the better judgement.
