Other animals kill to defend themselves and their
young. We kill for ego, religion and greed. Other
animals hunt for survival. We hunt for sport. Other
animals play harmlessly. We play recklessly. Other
animals understand instinct. We understand
supremacy, domination and greed. The truth is, we are
inferior among other mammals.
We say that humans are the world’s smartest
creatures, commonly because of our language and
technical advancements. But that is our method of
living. Other animals have methods of living that work
for them, and not us. Yet many people, (especially
overly civilized or affluent ones) will discount all that
and depict humans as supreme. Naturally, we come
out with children’s stories to play down the intellect of
wild animals as for our “delight”.
If you are one of those people that consider humans
are so supreme, consider this. There are animals with
as long or longer life spans as us, or that withstand
weather that we have to dress up for to keep warm.
Many animals have stronger digestive systems then
us, and for that reason can’t disgust what is stubble for
human cooking. This all depends on the animal. The
only time other animals quest our care is when they are
in our captivity.
Most animal species that become extinct do so from
the residues of human lifestyle. We have a deep
disrespect for things such as the environment, the
cycle of life and the sharing of natural resources. Many
animals in the wild know this and for that reason are,
not generally friendly to humans. Naturally we confirm
their negative image of humans by holding them in
captivity. Zoos and circus are two of the ways for other
animals to see us for what we are really all about.
Just think about this: If you had to live like a wild
animal, how long would you survive?
