White privilege is a myth, and there is no such thing as
white privilege. While it is more then true that
historically white people have wronged many other
people in many ways, it is not justified or realistic to
mistreat or retaliate white people for the bad deeds,
actions or crimes of their ancestors, thought it may
serve as therapeutic short term. Such as would be the
case if the tables were turned.
There is a doubled-standard involved with rebelling
against people based on the history of America and at
the same time, trying to capitalize on it to an individual
advantage of unreasonable proportions.
In the same instance, white supremacy is also a myth,
as there is no such thing as supremacy. Nobody has
supremacy over someone else. It’s a lot better to judge
people on actions or disposition rather then what they
are. We should be able to discuss culture, race and
ethnicity as leisurely observation and inquisition and
not have to defend it as abrasive language or “be
careful what we say”.
Skin color is like hair color or eye color: we should all
be happy for who and what we are and never change.
Changing what we are is where problems begin. When
you hear the term “people change”, it often is a result
of instability. Racism and sexism are manufactured
issues which will never end if we continue to use it to
discriminate or patronize others. Should we waste our
lives driving for such a cause? You only go around
once.
